The SFFECO UL Listed Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) Fire Extinguishing System is a fixed fire suppression system designed for total flooding and local application protection of high-risk hazards. The system extinguishes fire by reducing oxygen concentration to a level that does not support combustion. It is particularly suitable for protecting electrical, mechanical, and industrial hazards where clean agent performance is required.
Features
Extinguishing Agent: Carbondioxide (CO₂)
Properties: Colorless, Odorless, Electrically non conductive, and Non corrosive
Fast and effective fire suppression
High pressure cylinders
Flexible high pressure discharge hoses
Designed according to UL requirements
Interconnect multiple cylinders
Check valve to prevent back flow
Automatic or manual operation
Hydraulically calculated piping system
Engineered nozzle orifices
Applications:
Electrical switchgear rooms
Generator rooms
Transformer rooms
Turbine enclosures
Engine rooms (marine & industrial)
Flammable liquid storage areas
Paint booths
Industrial process equipment
Principle of Operation
Upon fire detection (automatic or manual activation), the system releases CO₂ into the protected enclosure. The discharged CO₂:
Rapidly reduces oxygen concentration
Suppresses combustion
Extinguishes the fire without damaging sensitive equipment
The system may include time delay and pre-discharge alarms to ensure personnel evacuation before release.
